Cru bourgeois exceptionnel
Our 2018 vintage marks a trying year, but one that makes us all proud. Indeed, despite extreme weather conditions with a hailstorm that took 50% of the harvest, 2018 is the first Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel of the Château du Taillan. It has a very nice aromatic complexity of black fruits, with touches of liquorice and round tannins guaranteeing a long and fresh silky material in the mouth.
Food and wine pairing suggestion : grilled breast with honey.

‘‘The currant and mocha character to this is appealing. Medium body, dusty tannins and
a medium fruity finish. Drinkable now, but better in a year or two.’’

‘‘Purple red with violet hue and black core. Elegant nose with ripe fruit and mild spices.
Discreet roasting aroma in the background. On the palate juicy fruit, ripe tannins, mild
spices, well balanced with good length.’’
94/100 Terre de Vins n°59 – Mai / Juin 2019
‘‘The chalk nose is on the freshness and purity of blackcurrant. The attack is explosive, showing a good maturity and a very digestible dilution sensation. The tannic structure is fine. The choice of optical sorting – Pellenc – was decisive, judicious, to keep only the best.’’
